How to find and download your Squarespace order exports
Squarespace provides order export functionality that allows you to download your sales data. This guide explains how to find, download, and upload your Squarespace order exports to Familiar for automatic sales tracking and royalty calculation for books sold through your Squarespace store.
Step-by-Step Guide
Log into Squarespace
Visit squarespace.com and sign in to your account.
Navigate to Orders
In your Squarespace dashboard, go to Commerce and then click on Orders.
Export Orders
Click the Export button in the upper right corner of the Orders page. Select the date range you want to export and choose CSV as the export format.
Download the File
Squarespace will generate the export file and send you an email when it's ready. Download the CSV file from the link in the email or from the Squarespace dashboard.
What's in Your Squarespace Export
Included Data:
- • Order ID and date
- • Customer information
- • Product titles and SKUs
- • Quantities sold
- • Prices and totals
- • Shipping and tax information
- • Payment status
Data Processing:
- • Only PAID orders are processed
- • Only items with ISBN SKUs are imported
- • Orders are grouped by Order ID
- • Shipping and taxes are distributed proportionally
How Familiar Filters Your Data
ISBN Filtering
Familiar automatically filters your Squarespace export to include books only. We do this by checking the "Lineitem sku" column for valid ISBNs.
- ✓ Imported: If the SKU is a valid ISBN (e.g., "978-1234567890"), the order line is processed and imported
- ✗ Ignored: If the SKU is not a valid ISBN (e.g., "TSHIRT-001"), the order line is filtered out and not imported
Best Practice
Make sure your book products in Squarespace use their ISBN as the SKU. This ensures accurate tracking and automatic import of your book sales.
Important Notes
Order Status
Only orders with a "PAID" financial status are imported. Pending, cancelled, or refunded orders are automatically filtered out.
Multi-Item Orders
When an order contains multiple books, shipping costs and taxes are automatically distributed proportionally based on each book's price.
